Our campaign for Resident Evil: Revelations consisted of a full social media and community plan, plus a number of digital activities.
Our main activation was a Facebook app ‘Face on Board’, which allowed fans to customise their own game box art. The application allowed them to use their webcam, or select an existing Facebook photo from their profile to add in to the porthole image on the box art with one of 5 gory filters. They could then share this with friends, view other’s porthole creations and print them out to use in their own box art.
Other options in the app included a ‘Like’ feature where fans could like other people’s porthole creations, with an option to automatically publish them to their Facebook timeline. A flagging option enabled the app to be self moderated so any inappropriate submissions were removed. Users could also share their porthole to their Facebook profiles or Tweet them.
